WEST PALM BEACH — Join the Countywide Community Revitalization Team (CCRT) for a virtual WebEx meeting hosted by the Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) on Thursday, June 10, at 10 a.m.
Randee Gabriel, Program Manager, 211 HelpLine, will be in attendance to talk about the 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast mission and services. 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast’s mission is to save and improve lives through crisis intervention, understanding their individual needs, and by connecting people to health, mental health, and wellness services 24 hours a day every day. It is a confidential community helpline and crisis hotline that provides immediate guidance and support for individuals and families who find themselves without answers to problems they may face on a daily basis.
Diana Coho, Consumer Affairs and Outreach Specialist Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will be also in attendance to talk about the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program. The FCC has launched this temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides eligible households with a monthly discount toward broadband service and a one-time discount to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. More information can be found at https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit [fcc.gov]
There will be an update on initiatives undertaken by the Office of Community Revitalization to assist the communities it serves.
