Labor Day parade, festival and rodeo Monday

OKEECHOBEE -- Labor Day celebrations  kicked off Sunday in Okeechobee with the first performance of the 2021  Pete Clemons Memorial Ranch Rodeo and Bull Riding event at the Cattlemen's Rodeo Arena on U.S. 441.

Okeechobee Main Street’s Labor Day Festival is planned for Monday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Flagler Park at the intersection of U.S. 441 and State Road 70 in downtown Okeechobee.

The Labor Day Parade will be held rain or shine on Monday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. Lineup is at 9 a.m.

The festival will include arts and crafts, handcrafted goods, a dunk tank and more old-fashioned fun.

The festival will feature a pulled pork barbecue dinner. A meal with two sides and dessert will be available for $10 per person. Whole pork butts will be available for $35.  

The second performance of the rodeo will be  Monday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Okeechobee Cattlemen’s Arena on U.S. 441 North.

The ranch rodeo will include bronc riding, calf branding, team sorting, double mugging, buddy pickup and kids calf scramble. Admission is $10 at the gate. Kids age 10 and under get in free.
