PAHOKEE- The Blue Devils officially have their new head coach.

Pahokee Middle-Senior High School has hired Emmanuel Hendrix as the head coach of the football program. Hendrix graduated from Pahokee in 1998 and was the defensive coordinator for the Blue Devils under outgoing coach D.J. Boldin.

Boldin took over the reigns of the team early 2019 and during his first year helped guide the Blue Devils all the way to the state championship. Following the 2020 season Boldin announced he had taken a position to coach wide receivers at Lake Erie College.

After that announcement Hendrix was named interim head coach while the school searched for a new coach. Boldin recommended Hendrix as his choice for job to Pahokee principal Dwayne Dennard.

Hendrix will now lead the effort to help the Blue Devils bounce back after a down year in 2020. Pahokee went 2-4 last year including a 38-0 loss to Glades Central.  Last season Palm Beach schools opted out of the FHSAA schedule due to COVID-19 concerns.
