Pahokee is selected to participate in the McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship Program

Posted

PAHOKEE — Pahokee Middle High School was selected to participate in the McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship program. The purpose of this program is to motivate students on their educational journey and inspire them to pursue a college career.

Students were able to experience the “traveling” golden doors of opportunity for two days.

Board Member Marcia Andrews, community and city officials, and McDonald’s brand ambassadors greeted the students as they traveled through the hallways and visited the door of opportunity. When opened, the door’s interior revealed the names of past HACER recipients and a branded plaque that included a QR code. This special code granted students and supporters access to where they will be able to learn more about the scholarship and also register for special workshops.

Students who apply for scholarships through this program will be eligible for an award in the amount of $100,000.

Dwayne Dennard, principal of Pahokee Middle High School, is very excited about being selected for this opportunity. Winning this scholarship will make a huge impact in the lives of the winning students.
