Son ensures his dad’s voice is heard

BELLE GLADE — Corey Brotherton (right) took matters into his own hands this past weekend when, he wrote in a social media post, his father, Luther Bernard Brotherton, was told he was not registered to vote. “My dad tried to vote ... but was turned away from his polling station. He said they took his ID and entered his name and address and then told him that he was not registered to vote this year,” his son said. “I went to Iwillvote.com entered his information and saw that he WAS registered. I picked him up and took him myself and made sure he voted! Please check and make sure your family and friends get out and vote!” The younger Brotherton ended with a hashtag: “End ..#VoterSuppression.”
