Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Mu Rho Omega Chapter

BELLE GLADE — The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Mu Rho Omega Chapter is dedicated to practicing its mantra of “service to all mankind.”

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has a strong history of supporting and servicing families. The Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP) is a program under the Empower Our Families Initiative. The goal of the program is to provide weekly meals for children in the community.

The Mu Rho Omega chapter began its mission to feed children in the community in the month of March. Sorority members gathered to pack food items to deliver to children at the Glades Academy. As a chapter Mu Rho Omega will facilitate this important program. The meals were packed in bags labeled “power packs.” The power packs were equipped with nutritional foods. The chapter will provide 75 power pack meals weekly to children and their families. There will be enough to feed them during the weekend and holidays.

The Mu Rho Omega chapter would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Empower Our Families Initiative’s Chairman Vinnisha Jones and Co-Chairman Anquonette Irving along with all the members that participated in the distribution of the power packs.
