Alzheimer’s Association’s Virtual Brain Bus hosts events

The Alzheimer’s Association Virtual Brain Bus is here to help. This statewide outreach initiative raises awareness about Alzheimer’s and related dementia from any device connected to the internet. Programs are led by trained dementia experts and will address the benefits of early detection, early diagnosis, brain health, risk reduction, how to receive an accurate diagnosis and the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s research.

Virtual Brain Bus: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 3 to 4 p.m.
Virtual Brain Bus featuring Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia: Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. Join us to learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, the stages and risk factors, Alzheimer’s Association resources, and current research and treatments available for some symptoms.
This session is the first in a four-part series. The second session, “10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s” will be held on Nov. 11, 2020, from 3 to 4 p.m. The third session, “Healthy Living for the Brain and Body” will be held on Nov. 18, from 3 to 4 p.m. The fourth session, “Dementia Conversations” will be held on Nov. 25, from 3 to 4 p.m. Each session in the series has been posted separately. You must register for each session individually.
Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive a link in an email confirmation directing to the virtual presentation. A valid email must be used in order to receive the link.

Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body with Kahoot! Game, Thursday, Nov. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement. After the program, Kahoot! will be played as a culminating activity. Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform that can be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot! app.
