CLEWISTON -- Debra Willis was recognized by the Hendry County School District June 7 during its regular school board meeting for her 32 years of service.
Willis worked as a paraprofessional at Clewiston High School since 1990 and is in fact, a CHS graduate.
Superintendent Michael Swindle presented Willis with a plaque commemorating her dedicated service, saying she was always working, always seen doing something at the High school and always engaged with those around her and willing to give a hand.
"She was always working, always doing it with a smile on her face," he said. "She is a great human being who provides for her family and does everything she can for everyone around her and at the end of the day, just an all-around great individual."
Swindle shared from a letter written by her co-workers lauding her qualities.
"Ms. Willis is a devout Christian and very professional in every aspect of her job. She is extremely dependable and hard-working and always did whatever was asked of her ... Ms. Willis was always willing to do whatever it takes to get a job done ... She has shared her wisdom with us all, she always looked out for us."
