Clewiston BOC recognizes City Attorney Gary M. Brandenburg

Posted

CLEWISTON -- During its March 21 meeting the City of Clewiston Board of Commissioners  read a proclamation expressing its sorrow over the passing of City Attorney Gary M. Brandenburg on Feb. 2, and presented a plaque to his son, Dylan Brandenburg, who is serving as his replacement as city attorney.

Mayor Kristine Petersen read aloud the proclamation stating that Brandenburg was an accomplished and well-respected attorney. He represented the City of Clewiston since August 2016.

During that time, he tirelessly served the city’s interest, counseling the city commission and staff from all departments with grace and calm during periods of change and challenge, the proclomation said.

He was beloved in the city for his municipal law knowledge, his passion for the job, intelligence and responsiveness and commitment to the city’s residents, as stated in the proclomation.

The commission recognized Brandenburg’s many contributions to the city and its citizens and expressed a deep appreciation for his dedication to the progress of the community, while extending to his family its sincere sympathy upon his passing.

A plaque with the proclomation was presented to Dylan.

“My father expressed time and time again how much he enjoyed working with each one of you on behalf of the city," he said.
