CLEWISTON — On Dec. 29, 2020, Hendry County Deputies responded to 6480 Flaghole Road, in the area of Flaghole/Montura Ranch area after receiving a report of an armed robbery.

The victim, a 16-year-old male, had arranged to meet 24-year-old Javier Daniel Gutierrez-Rentas, of Clewiston, to conduct a drug transaction. When Gutierrez-Rentas arrived to meet with the victim, Gutierrez-Rentas exited his vehicle greeting the victim at the driver side window, pointing a handgun at him.

Gutierrez-Rentas forced the victim to surrender his phone, cash and jewelry he had in his possession. He then told the victim to leave the area.
