CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Museum is happy to host the second Annual Teacher Appreciation & Welcome-Back Luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 11 am to noon. All Clewiston teachers are invited to attend and are asked to RSVP to the museum by calling 863-983-2870 or via email to clewistonmuseum@embarqmail.com.
The last day to RSVP will be on Friday, Aug. 5, by 4 p.m.
“We can’t wait to have the teachers come in for the luncheon!” said Leigh Woodham, director of the Clewiston Museum. “Last year, they were all so appreciative of the local business’ support. They loved the food and really loved the cash prizes that we were able to give away!”
The lunch will include food and beverages donated by Beef O’Brady’s, Common Grounds Coffee Shop, Domino’s Pizza, the Joe Whitehead for School Board Campaign, Julio’s Tropical Café, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Main Street Subs, Nisbet Enterprises’ McDonald’s, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, and Sonny’s BBQ. Supplies have been donated by McDonald’ and Sonny’s BBQ.
In addition to the restaurants, financial support is being provided at the following levels: Bronze Star ($100+) – Depotrans Clewiston LLC, First Bank, Glades Gas & Air Conditioning, Prestige Cleaning Services, and Rawls Real Estate; Silver Star ($250) - Badcock of Clewiston, Everglades Federal Credit Union, U.S. Sugar, and Wedgworth’s, Inc.
Following this amazing lunch, numerous door prizes will be given away! The door prizes include items donated by the museum and local businesses, including the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum, Berner Oil, Caloosa Kitchen, Clewiston Florist & Gifts, Elizabeth’s Beauty Day Spa, Glades Gas & Air Conditioning, Hampton Inn, the Joe Whitehead for School Board Campaign, Nisbet Enterprises’ McDonald’s, Royal’s Furniture, Seasons 3:1 LLC, and Team Big Lake Oilers from Young Living Essential Oils. Thanks to the luncheon’s generous sponsors, lots of cash for classroom supplies will be the grand prizes!
Before each teacher leaves, they will be given a bag full of all kinds of goodies, also donated by local businesses.
This event would not be possible without the generous support of Clewiston’s business community. Their support demonstrates how strongly they feel about showing appreciation for what the Clewiston teachers do for our local students.
