CLEWISTON — This week, members of the Clewiston Rotary Club delivered copies of a book containing the United States Constitution and Declaration of Independence to hundreds of 7th grade students taking civics in Glades and Hendry Counties.
“Our Rotary Club is committed to providing the resources for children to learn about civics, and there is no better way to learn about our system of government than by reading our nation’s founding documents,” said Electa Waddell, Clewiston Rotary President. “We appreciate Hendry and Glades County principals and teachers for the opportunity to share such valuable information to some of America’s future leaders.”
The group of Rotarians, which in addition to Waddell included Dee Dashiell, Ryan Duffy, Cheryl Gutjahr, Frank Harris, Joe Whitehead, and R.D. Williams. The books were provided by generous support from the local Clewiston Rotary Club and grants from Rotary International District 6960.
