The Clewiston Tiger varsity soccer team hosted its Senior Night on Jan. 20 before their game against the Glades Day Gators.
Among the seniors recognized before the game was captain Josue Gonzalez, the all-time leading scorer in the history of Clewiston soccer. Josue went on to lead the Tigers to a 6-1 victory over the Gators, scoring four goals.
The Gators managed to keep things close throughout the first half of the game. Both teams headed into halftime tied 1-1. But during the second half, the onslaught of Tiger shots on goal became too much for the Gators to fend off, and the rout was on.
The win brings the Tigers' record to 8-3-2 as they head into their final regular season match. They host the Glades Central Raiders on Jan. 22 starting at 7 p.m.
