LABELLE — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit and crash accident at approximately 10:52 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24. A 41-year-old pedestrian was westbound in the vicinity of the State Road 80 travel lanes, approximately 30 feet west of Ben Moore Drive. An unknown person driving a sedan type vehicle was traveling westbound on S.R. 80. The right side passenger mirror of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.
The operator of the vehicle fled the scene.
The pedestrian came to final rest on the north grass shoulder of S.R. 80.
It was reported the pedestrian was tansported to Lehigh Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
