HENDRY COUNTY — Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones. Travelers can visit www.FL511.com or dial “511” from their phone to learn about traffic conditions on major roadways across the state. Roadwork planned this week includes the following:
• S.R. 29 over the Caloosahatchee River (LaBelle Drawbridge): (Bridge maintenance project) Crews will be making repairs to the bridge structure working overnight on both the northbound and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours from 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 to 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15 while crews perform maintenance on the bridge, weather permitting. Flaggers will maintain both directions of traffic. The contractor is DBi Services.
