CLEWISTON — Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 15, Hendry County’s contractor, Community Asphalt Corp., will be conducting construction services and bridge work over the Industrial Canal between the intersections of Francisco Street and Twin Lakes Drive on Sonora Avenue in Clewiston.

The bridge work includes setup of the temporary barrier wall and demolition of the bridge rail ends to accommodate the new guardrail connection. The speed limit will be reduced through the project area.

Motorists should expect lane closures and possible delays throughout the duration of the bridge work operations and allow extra time for their commute.

Motorists and pedestrians should use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.

The bridge work is expected to have a completion time of approximately eleven days. Bridge work operations will occur during weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work is expected to be completed on Dec. 25.

Please note that this schedule is tentative and subject to change. The Hendry County Engineering Department will notify of any changes.

Residents or motorists with any questions or concerns can contact the Hendry County Engineering Department at 863-675-5222.
