Marine Toys for Tots thanks all of Santa’s Helpers for successful 2020 Christmas Campaign in Glades and Hendry Counties

The Hendry & Glades County’s Chapter of Marine Toys for Tots has ended its campaign for Christmas 2020 and wishes to thank all its friends, volunteers and businesses that helped make this year’s campaign very successful. Partnering with the Florida Community Health Centers (Moore Haven and Clewiston), Salvation Army (LaBelle & Clewiston), United Way and the many local businesses that volunteered services, hosted a fundraiser or MT4T collection box and/or gave cash support for the purchase of toys, the campaign was able to adequately address the needs of all families and organizations that requested assistance.

The final campaign report shows that 2,406 children received gifts this year compared to 2,155 last year. Also, a total of $8,464 was donated locally and an estimated 6,347 toys and gifts were collected and/or purchased and distributed throughout our two county area.

The following foundations and businesses are recognized for their generous financial assistance: Glades Electric Charitable Trust, Inc., Royal Foundation Trust, Inc., H.E. Hill Foundation, Inc., and LaBelle Walmart. A special thanks to United States Sugar Corporation for their cash donation and arranging to have their “Santa Express” train transport Santa Clause and his toys to the communities bordering Lake Okeechobee.
