CLEWISTON — After a long, tough year of dirt racing during a pandemic, Hendry County Motorsports Park will be holding their Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. To keep everyone safe and healthy, they have announced that instead of using a previously planned indoor venue, they will hold this event outside, at the track.

“Ok, I hate to flip flop but due to very viable concerns about COVID, the Hendry County Motorsports Park Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the track, on Saturday Jan. 16, at 60 p.m. Sorry for any confusion, but it’s just the right thing to do,” explained track owner, Ken Kinney.

Fans and racers plan for the event to be bigger and better than last year, with good music, food, and fun, while the winners to receive their trophies and cash awards. There will even be a ceremony for the drivers being inducted into the hall of fame.

“Last year was great, there’s no way I’m gonna miss it this year!” said race fan Pat Bower. “What a gem. We are grateful to have the dirt track right here in Hendry. Ken Kinney has really dedicated himself to this sport, and it shows!”

Tickets can be purchased by calling 863-675-8888. Tickets are also available at 930 Hickpochee Ave., LaBelle. For more information and a calendar of events visit the Hendry County Motorsports Park website: http://hendryracing.com/
