HENDRY AND GLADES COUNTIES -- National Public Health Week is a time to recognize progress Public Health has made in strengthening and protecting the public’s health and continue to improve the health and well-being of Americans by preventing disease, supporting medical research and promoting safer and healthier communities. The 2022 National Public Health Week theme is “Public Health is Where You Are.”
National Public Health Week (April 4th to April10th) is also an opportunity to recognize not only the important work of public health workers in our communities, but also to unite around critical public health issues and focus our collective energy on the singular goal of helping people live longer, happier, healthier lives.
Jennifer Hood, Administrator/Health Officer for the Department of Health in Hendry and Glades Counties said, “The first step that families can take toward public health are in the comfort of their own home with family nutrition, maternal health and mental wellness. By taking better care of ourselves and supporting our family and friends in their efforts to lead healthier lives, we can all play an important role in National Public Health Week.”
To recognize the impacts of Public Health efforts, each day of NPHW provides a different theme; NPHW 2022 Daily Themes:
