OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center, located at 4601 State Road 710 East, will hold the following in events in August:
Tuesday, Aug 3: Recreational Riding — Recreational riding nights are an opportunity for local residents to ride their horse in the covered arena 6 to 9 p.m. You must have a current Coggins certificate.
Friday through Sunday, Aug. 5-8: Southern Most Junior Calf Roping and 4D Barrel Race — 4D Barrel Race on Thursday night. Goat tying, team roping, steer wrestling and roping on Friday, breakaway and tie down roping Saturday and Sunday. The competition that is a qualifier for the Junior National Finals Rodeo, and The All American Rodeo Finals.
Saturday, Aug. 14 through Sunday, Aug. 15: Florida Junior High School Rodeo — Junior high school students from all over Florida will be in Okeechobee for their first rodeo of the season.
Thursday, Aug. 19: Fast & Furious Barrel Racing Buckle Series — Exhibition runs start at 5 p..m., Open runs start at 7 p.m., Youth follows the Open. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.
Saturday, Aug. 28 and Sunday, Aug. 29: OYLS 2021 Cattle Battle Livestock Show — Youth livestock exhibitors from all over the Southeast will compete in a jackpot livestock show series. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.
