OKEECHOBEE — For the first time in league history, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) elite Unleash The Beast will buck into Okeechobee welcoming fans to the Agri-Civic Center Jan. 30-31 for the PBR Okeechobee Invitational.

Bringing the edge-of-the-seat action one can only experience at a PBR event, the tour stop will feature the Top 30 bull riders in the world squaring off in epic 8-second confrontations all night long against some of the rankest bulls on the planet, often 10-times their size.

Among the many accomplished western sports athletes anticipated to compete are four World Champions who hold a collective seven gold buckles: Kaique Pacheco (2018); Cooper Davis (2016); J.B. Mauney (2015, 2013); and Silvano Alves (2014, 2012, 2011).

PBR’s 2021 debut in Okeechobee comes on the heels of an exhilarating season-launch event earlier this month in nearby Ocala. Some of the names to note are:

• Three-Time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves: In 2021, Alves will attempt to accomplish something never before done in the PBR – win four PBR World Championships. At the season-launch Unleash The Beast event in Ocala, Alves finished runner-up in the second competition, earning 70 world points and surging to No. 5 in the world. Within 60 points of the No. 1 ranking, will he ascend to the top of the world standings in Okeechobee?

• 2016 PBR World Champion Cooper Davis: As one of just two riders to earn world points in both competitions during the season-launch tour stop in Ocala, the Texan is now No. 4 in the world as he seeks his second gold buckle. Going a near-perfect 3-for-4 across the two days of action, Davis is now within 32.5 points of the No. 1 ranking, a gap that could easily be erased in Okeechobee.

• 2018 PBR Rookie of the Year Keyshawn Whitehorse: After finishing the 2020 season with his career-first 90-point ride, logging three of the monstrous scores at the season-culminating World Finals, Whitehorse continued his momentum in 2021. Delivering the first 90-point ride of the new season in Ocala, Whitehorse netted 70 world points as he catapulted to No. 5 in the world. While he finished a career-best No. 7 in the world in 2020, will 2021 be the year he captures his first World Championship?
