Stuart man killed in Glades County crash

A 23-year-old Stuart man died Jan. 7 in a crash on State Road 78 near County Road 721, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Stuart man killed in Glades County crash

GLADES COUNTY – A 23-year-old Stuart man died Jan. 7 in a crash on State Road 78 near County Road 721, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report explains a sedan driven by a 23-year old Stuart man was traveling north on State Road 78 at 2:33 a.m. on Jan. 7.  A semi tractor trailer, driven by a 31-year old Clewiston man, was traveling south on State Road 78. The sedan entered the southbound lane of State Road 78 to pass another vehicle. The sedan and the semi evasively swerved toward the northbound lane. The front of the sedan collided with the front of semi. The semi came to rest in the ditch along County Road 721. The sedan came to rest on Stata Road 78. The sedan driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The semi driver received minor injuries.
