Hendry County officials are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole and preparing for the potential of tropical storm force winds and heavy rain beginning Wednesday evening.
The County’s contracted debris hauler is continuing to pick up storm debris from Hurricane Ian and residents should leave their debris piles in the right of way at this time for pick up.
All trash cans, recycling bins and other loose items should be secured to prevent these items from becoming flying debris or blocking drainage.
Residents should not place curbside any bulk items such as appliances, furniture, mattresses, etc. for pickup by the County’s franchise hauler Waste Connections until after the storm passes.
Residents should continue to monitor weather stations, local alerts and follow Hendry County Emergency Management at www.preparehendry.com or Hendry County Emergency Management for the latest information. Residents are also encouraged to sign up for emergency alerts by texting “HENDRYFLA” to 888777.
