LABELLE – A 61-year-old LaBelle man and a 59-year-old LaBelle woman were killed in a fatal vehicle crash on Oct. 8 at 7:40 p.m. at State Road 80 and Birchwood Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a sedan was stopped for a stop sign on northbound Birchwood Road, west of State Road 80.
A pickup truck was traveling west on State Road 80. The sedan failed to yield to State Road 80 traffic. The front of the pickup truck collided with the right side of the sedan. The sedan rotated and came to rest on the north shoulder of State Road 80.
Both the driver and the passenger of the sedan were pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old Miami man, had minor injuries. A passenger in the pickup, a 42-year-old Miami man, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation
