Correction - Glades County Arrest Report

Posted

GLADES COUNTY -- The Glades County Arrest Reports published on the SouthCentralFloridaLife.com website and printed in the Lake Okeechobee News in April and May contained two errors. In each case, the reporter accidentally used the name of the arresting officer instead of the name of the person who was arrested.

The published arrest report stated that on April 11, Ruben Louis-Pierre was charged with leaving scene of accident, reckless driving and fleeing a law enforcement officer with lights and sirens. Louis-Pierre was not arrested. He was the arresting officer in the case.

The published report stated that on April 29, Brian Vavra was charged with grand theft. Vavra was not arrested. He was the arresting officer in the case.

Both errors were due to human error. We  apologize for the errors. The newspaper staff has taken steps to ensure such errors do not happen in the future.

The reports containing the errors are no longer on the SouthCentralFloridaLife.com website.
