PORT LABELLE -- A 38-year-old Miami woman was killed in a three-vehicle auto accident in Hendry Countyon State Road 80 near Lexington Parkway on July 31.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, vehicle 1, a pickup truck was driven by a 32-year-old Moore Haven man. Vehicle 2, a sports utility vehicle, was driven by a 42-year-old Miami man. There were two passengers in vehicle 2, a 38-year-old North Miami woman and a 41-year-old Miami woman. Vehicle 3 was a sedan, driven by a 21-year-old Clewiston woman.
According to the FHP report, “Vehicle 1, a pickup, was traveling east on State Road 80, just east of Lexington Parkway. Vehicle 2, an SUV, was traveling east, in front of vehicle 1. The front of vehicle 1 collided with the rear of vehicle 2. Both vehicle 1 and vehicle 2 traveled off the roadway right and collided with a guardrail. Vehicle 1 came to rest partially on top of the guardrail. Vehicle 2 came to rest on State Road 80. Vehicle 3, a sedan, was traveling east and collided with the rear portion of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 3 overturned and came to rest on its roof.
The drivers of all three vehicles received minor injuries in the crash, according to the FHP report. The 41-year-old passenger in vehicle 2 has received minor injuries. The 38-year-old passenger in vehicle 2 was killed.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
