MOORE HAVEN — The Glades County Woman’s Club began its new fiscal year with a huge slate of projects on its agenda. At a called meeting, president, Marina Langdale, noted that the club has always filled a basket for a deserving family for Thanksgiving. The club voted to furnish turkeys and members will add non perishable items to fill two baskets this year to be donated no later than Nov. 21.

The club-sponsored annual ham or turkey shoot is scheduled for Dec. 4, with the place to be announced later.

Pending being able to secure a space, the club voted for the Christmas dinner and ornament exchange to be held at Forrey’s Grill in LaBelle on Dec. 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

By telephone voting, members unanimously agreed to contribute to the funeral expense of a former club member.

The November meeting will be held at the First Baptist Church on the Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
