Glades County Fire Rescue saves birthday party

Posted

MOORE HAVEN — Sometimes the call to service looks a little different. When Glades County Medic and Fire crews learned that two of Glades County’s younger citizens John Roy, 7, and James, 5, only had three classmates show up to their birthday party on a Saturday afternoon. Glades County medic and fire crews knew what they had to do, they were going to a party.

Joined by the Glades County Sheriff’s Office, the crews showed up with lights and sirens blaring to make sure that two young boys knew that their community cared about them. Both boys received birthday presents from crew members. Three teachers from Moore Haven Elementary School also joined in the celebration. The boys along with their three classmates got to tour the ambulance, fire truck and patrol car. A great time was had by all.
