MOORE HAVEN — The 11th annual Glades Salute to Veterans will be held Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Doyle Conner Building, 900 U.S. 27.
Opening ceremonies begin at 5:30p.m. with the presentation of colors by the Glades County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard. The lobby will be closed during this presentation.
A buffet dinner catered by Kurbside Treats will be followed by special recognition of US Military Veterans from all branches of the Service.
Special guest speaker will be Michael Roseberry, resident of Buckhead Ridge. A US Marine (1969-1972) who served in Hawaii, Viet Nam - where his service merited him the Purple Heart Award - and finished his service in California. His interesting narratives of maneuvers and strategies in Viet Nam will certainly account for how he arrived as an E1 and when he left he was E5 Sergeant.
The Master of Ceremonies will be Property Appraiser Lorie Ward. The POW/MIA table will be prepared by Veteran Jim Quigley. Patriotic music will be performed by Kaylee Torres. Laura Mathis will preserve the event with her photography skills. There will be complimentary plant decorations as door prizes this year.
The event/dinner is free to veterans of any branch of the US Military and is hosted by Glades County Republican Executive Committee.
A nominal donation of $10 will be accepted from non-veteran guests.
For reservations, please call 863-675-8850 or text 863-885-1138.
