Glades County Library announces new director Iris Perkins

MOORE HAVEN — Glades County is happy to announce that they have a new Librarian Director Iris Perkins. She is a lifelong resident of Glades County and currently resides in Moore Haven. Iris comes with a degree in the medical field and educational field. She enjoys learning new things, reaching out and helping the community and is excited about her position at the library.

Beginning the week of Aug. 9, the Glades County Library hours are changing in order to better serve the community. The library will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Library will be closed Sundays and Mondays.

The Glades County Library is excited to announce they will be having the “Students Around the Lake Art contest” again! The theme this year is Florida Landmarks. Artwork will be judged and cash prizes awarded. Rules will be posted on their Facebook page at Glades County Public Library @gladeslibrary. If you haven’t yet, please Like and Follow the Facebook page so you won’t miss out. Canvas will be available for pickup on Oct. 1.
