MOORE HAVEN — During the Florida Supervisor of Elections conference held in Tampa in June, Supervisor Aletris Farnam of Glades County received a $1,200 scholarship on behalf of Maricela Rubio. Ms. Rubio applied for the scholarship that is awarded annually to students. She was one of four out of twenty students that received a scholarship this year.
Maricela Rubio is a Moore Haven Middle High School (MHMHS) alumnus. She was part of the 2018 graduating class. Maricela currently attends Florida State University where she is pursuing a dual degree in political science and psychology and minoring in communication and criminology. After graduating, Maricela will continue her education by earning a doctorate degree in counseling psychology. She hopes to concentrate her work within schools as a school psychologist.
