GLADES COUNTY -- A motorcycle driver and passenger were killed in a traffic crash on State Road 29 in Glades on May 13.

The accident occurred at 1:29 p.m. according to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a 75-year-old Melbourne woman was driving a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) southbound on SR 29.

A motorcycle driven by a 72-year-old Avon Park man was traveling north on SR 29. A 71-year-old Avon Park woman was a passenger on the motorcycle.

According to the FHP report, the SUV crossed the centerline and entered the northbound lane of travel. The front of the SUV collided with the front of motorcycle. Post collision, the SUV collided with the guardrail. The SUV driver sustained a minor injury and was transported to an area hospital. The motorcycle and passenger were pronounced deceased on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
