MOORE HAVEN — A Florida Highway Patrol press release stated that at approximately 7:39 a.m. on Dec. 18, a 24-year-old Okeechobee man driving a sedan and a 48 year old North Miami Beach man driving a tractor/trailer were westbound on U.S. 27 in Glades County, at the intersection of U.S. 27 and S.R. 78, on the outside lane. The sedan was traveling behind the tractor/trailer. The tractor/trailer slowed, the sedan failed to slow. The front of the sedan collided with the rear portion of the trailer. Both vehicles came to rest on the outside lane of U.S. 27.
It was reported the driver of the sedan was transported to Hendry Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
