LABELLE -- A 31-year-old LaBelle woman was struck and killed early Thursday morning by a motorist near the intersection of Hunter Club Ave. and South Datil Street.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, at 5:42 a.m. a 33-year old Clewiston male driving a pickup truck was traveling west on Hunting Club Ave., approaching South Datil Street when the front of his vehicle collided with the woman who was walking along the north edge of Hunting Club Ave. in the roadway.
The motorist veered right and collided with a tree on the grass shoulder east of the intersection. The report states he suffered no injuries.
The pedestrian came to rest on the north grass shoulder of Hunting Club Ave. where she was pronounced deceased.
