FORT MYERS- As the Moore Haven Terriers headed to Fort Myers for the regional semifinal, the team awaiting them was one of the few that got the better of them this season.

In fact, the Evangelical Christian Sentinels were an undefeated 8-0 this year. That impressive regular season performance the earned them the number two seed in the region. During the regular season meeting between Moore Haven and Evangelical Christian on Sept. 1, the Sentinels controlled the game on the ground, racking up three touchdowns and 243 yards rushing en route to a 28-15 win.

But that script was completely flipped for the rematch in the playoffs.

The Sentinels were held to just 67 yards rushing and Moore Haven secured a dominating 45-13 victory.

The win leaves the Terriers as one of the eight teams left standing in the 1A classification and advances them to the regional final.

Terrier quarterback junior Henry Boyd had 222 yards passing and two touchdowns. Boyd also had 132 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground in the blowout. Senior Kenari Wilcher caught those two touchdowns and led the team with 185 receiving yards.

Junior Zailin Jackson led the Terriers with 135 yards rushing and a touchdown. Jackson also led the team on defense in tackles with 13.

Awaiting the Terriers in the regional final are the top-ranked 7-2 First Baptist Academy Lions. The Lions are ranked number one in the region and are coming off a 42-6 win over the Community School of Naples last week in their playoff game.

The Terriers will travel to face the Lions in Naples with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25.
