Bee Swarm Season is starting to sizzle

Posted

Pastor Ashely Butler and his wife Tammy Butler, of B&H Bee Removal, offer an insured and licensed Live Bee Removal Service throughout Southwest Florida, that specializes in the live removal of honey bees from homes and businesses. “We do cut outs, swarms, trap outs, and then relocate the bees to a better home,” says Ashley, a busy and determined bee enthusiast, who is also the Pastor at Eastside Baptist Church, here in LaBelle.

“As many churches in America the financial burden is heavy. I prayed to God to give me some idea how I could take some of that stress away from our church. Well God answered that prayer but not in the way that I thought He would.” A friend of Pastor Butler’s brought over a hive box, full of bees, and that’s where it all started. While working at home as a beekeeper, swarm season began, where the call for help from frustrated families with their homes, vehicles, or nearby trees suddenly filled with bees is a constant. Pastor Butler began to pray about becoming a professional Bee Remover, “My wife and I found a few friends with bee problems. I told them I would removed them for free- just to make sure I could do it right. Immediately we saw what God had in store for us.”

They have saved countless families, not to mention thousands of bees, with their Live Bee Removal Services since then. Pastor Butler says he owes the Lord many thanks, for allowing them to start B & H Bee Removal which, “Helps me meet the needs of my family and continue to preach the Gospel here in Hendry County. I have the opportunity to not only witness to people, but to be able to work with them in any way to help get the bees removed.” The bees are certainly thankful as well.

Pastor Butler urges everyone to see the importance of removing the bees, alive as opposed to exterminating them. Even though bees often seem scary, or pose a nuisance, they are helpful and important little pollinators. Pastor Butler says, “Bees are the bond that holds agriculture together,” he goes on to say, that with 9.5 million acres of farmland in Florida, “WE NEED THE BEES!”
