CLEWISTON — Building and maintaining positive relationships between young people and law enforcement is a proven way to affect positive change in a community. The Clewiston Police Department (CPD) makes an effort to do just this, in many different ways. One way is by visiting local schools to meet and speak with students.
Kindergarten and first grade students at Clewiston Christian School had the opportunity to meet Detective Roberts from the Clewiston Police Department on Sept. 4.
He spoke to them about what it was like to be a police officer, and answered questions about law enforcement. The students also presented Detective Roberts with a care package to show their appreciation to all of the officers and thank them for keeping the community safe.
