FORT MYERS — The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida welcomes the arrival of six new members to their board of directors.

Tara Sherrod
Tara Sherrod
• Tara Sherrod, of Hendry County, represents faith-based providers. She is the director of the First Baptist Preschool in LaBelle.

Mary Grace Romo
Mary Grace Romo

• Mary Grace Romo represents Lee County and will serve on the Board’s Nominations and Bylaws Committee.

• Chantel Porte represents the Florida Department of Children and Families and will serve on the Board’s Program Committee.

Tanya Williams
Tanya Williams
• Tanya Williams represents Collier County on the Board. She is employed by the Collier County Library.

Rebecca McKellar
Rebecca McKellar
• Rebecca McKellar represents private, for-profit childcare and is from Lee County.

Alex Breault
Alex Breault
• Alex Breault works at the Naples Chamber of Commerce and represents the private sector business requirement of the ELC Board.

Interim Board Chair, Marshall Bower says, “The Early Learning Coalition’s mission of enhancing the quality of children’s lives by providing families, early childhood educators, caregivers and community partners with opportunities to positively impact the future is shared and embraced by all of these outstanding new board members. They have demonstrated their commitment to our community’s greatest asset, our children, and we look forward to their participation on the Board.”

The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida Board of Directors represents both public and private sector business leaders from Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee Counties. The Early Learning Coalition Board of Directors meets bi-monthly at the Early Learning Coalition Office. The public is invited to attend.
