Girls Soccer Around the Lake

• Glades Day Lady Gators: The Glades Day Lady Gators are 1-6 so far this season, with their one win coming over Okeechobee. Glades Day scored three goals in the first half of their game against the Lady Brahmans, who were coming into the game undefeated. The Lady Gators have been able to put points on the board this season, but their defense too often can’t match the performance. After the break, the Lady Gators will host a home game against Berean Christian on Jan. 7.

• Okeechobee Lady Brahmans: The Okeechobee Lady Brahmans have continued where they left off last year and currently have the best record around the lake at 3-1. Those three victories include wins over Sebring, Lake Placid and Clewiston. Okeechobee will have a chance to avenge their loss to Glades Day when they host the Lady Gators at the top of the lake on Jan. 19. First they’ll have to travel and compete against a good Jensen Beach team on Jan. 6.

• Moore Haven Lady Terriers: The Moore Haven Lady Terriers are off to a 1-3 start this season, with a win over Avon Park and losses to Lake Placid, Neumann and Donahue Catholic. In their win against Avon Park the Lady Terriers trailed for the first half of the game 1-0 before they came back to secure the win 2-1, with two goals in the second half. Up next, Moore Haven will be on the road taking on Southwest Florida Christian on Jan. 11 and Lake Placid on Jan. 12 before hosting Avon Park in Belle Glade on Jan. 15.

• Clewiston Lady Tigers: The Clewiston Lady Tigers have taken a step back this year. After finishing 9-5-1 last season, the Lady Tigers are 0-6 through the first half of their 2020-21 campaign. The Lady Tigers have three games scheduled in January, two at home and one away. Clewiston will be on the road on Jan. 11 against Seminole Ridge and at home against American Heritage on Jan. 14 and King’s Academy on Jan. 21.
