CLEWISTON — On Oct. 20, the Green Thumb Garden Club (GTGC) of Clewiston met at the First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Margo Fatzinger, president of the GTGC, participated in the Fall District Conference by way of Zoom and gave a report on the meeting. The scheduled speaker, Brian Robinson, was unable to attend, so Sandy Stitt (pictured above), member of the GTGC, graciously agreed to attend and talk about her passion, orchids. Her talk was very informative and she even gave members handouts! She passed around photo albums of a lot of beautiful orchids that she has grown. Most of the members in the GTGC have seen the beautiful orchids in her garden. The GTGC were very grateful for her wonderful presentation. Thank you, Sandy Stitt! The field trip to Burma Spice in Moore Haven for Nov. 17 was canceled. (COVID-19 has affected a lot of businesses.) The GTGC will be decorating the public library with natural Christmas decorations on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
