LaBelle High School (LHS) is pleased to announce that the Class of 2019’s valedictorian is Travis Gayle and the salutatorian is Eduardo Ramirez-Trejo. Top Five Honor graduates also include Stephen Howard, Shareefa Saheed, and Arleth Ortiz Villa.
Travis Oraldo Gayle, Valedictorian is ranked number one of 335 students and has a weighted GPA of 5.24. He has completed 102 community service hours, is a member of NHS and a member of the LHS math team- Mu Alpha Theta. Travis is a dual enrollment student at Florida Gulf Coast University and will graduate with his high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree. He will continue at FGCU and major in Software Engineering. Travis’s parents are Janette and Cordel Gayle.
Eduardo Ramirez-Trejo, Salutatorian is ranked number two and has a weighted GPA of 5.23. He is dual enrolled at Florida SouthWestern State College and will graduate with his high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree. He has completed 123 community service hours, participated in the American Legion Boys State, and is a member of NHS. He plans to attend the University of Florida and major in Chemical Engineering. Eduardo’s parents are Noralba Trejo and Hilario Ramirez.
Stephen Vance Howard is a Top Five honor graduate with a weighted GPA of 5.18. He is the president of NHS, an Environmental Team competitor, BACE certified, and will graduate with his high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree. Stephen has completed 126 community service hours. He will continue his education at the University of Florida majoring in Geomatics with the goal of becoming a land surveyor. Stephen’s parents are Lonnie and Vanita Howard.
Shareefa Sultana Saheed is a Top Five honor graduate with a weighted GPA of 5.10. She is CPR, EMR, and EKG certified. She has completed 88 community service hours and is dual enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University. She will continue her education at the University of Florida majoring in chemistry and mathematics with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. Shareefa’s parents are Rasheed and Bebi Saheed.
Arleth Guadalupe Ortiz Villa is a Top Five honor graduate with a weighted GPA of 5.08 and has completed 132 community service hours. She is secretary of NHS, a Environmental Team member, and a member of the LHS math team - Mu Alpha Theta. She is CPR certified and is currently dual enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University. Arleth plans to continue at FGCU majoring in Biochemistry with the goal of becoming an oncologist. Her parents are Juan A. Ortiz Martinez and Gloria E. Villa Blanco.
