On Saturday, March 30, LaBelle High School hosted Boys Weightlifting 1A Regional 8 Championship where twenty two schools were represented. LHS had seven lifters that competed. LHS came in third place by scoring thirty three team points.
In the 119 weight class Hector Zuniga (10th) came in second place, Angel Sorcia (10th) came in third place.
Jaime Deras Jr. (Sr) was the 139 weight class Regional Champion, Yovani Roblero (Sr) came in sixth place.
Ezequiel Moreno (Jr) in the 183 weight class came in third place while also breaking the school record with a bench 305 lbs.
Christopher Sarabia (Sr) is your 238 weight class Regional Champion. Chris broke two school records, benching 345 lbs and total weight combined 620 lbs. Leonel Solis (Sr) came in second place in the Unlimited weight class. 1A State Championship will be held in Panama City on April 12 -13.
