LaBelle Kiwanis welcomed guest speakers Scott Perry and Danika Hopper, from Adventure Mentoring Programs, Inc.(AMP), which is the umbrella organization that operates LaBelle Fossil Camp. LaBelle Fossil Camp is a local adventure-based arts and sciences program that focuses on environmental education. The camp brings kids ages 8 to 14 sailing and fossil hunting along the banks of the Caloosahatchee, as they learn to be good stewards of the environment. Normally held throughout July each year, AMP plans to expand LaBelle Fossil Camp to an after school and weekend program. They also introduced their new program, Paleo-to-Go, a mobile, hands-on version of LaBelle Fossil Camp that can be brought to classrooms and homeschool groups.

The Kiwanis Club of LaBelle meets at Beef O’Brady’s on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.

Information about AMP’s LaBelle Fossil Camp and Paleo-to-Go programs can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and their website: https://fossilcamp.wordpress.com/ or you may contact them by email: labellefossilcamp@gmail.com
