Animal Rescue Inc., located right here in LaBelle and started by the determined and dedicated Diane Sheppard over 20 years ago, is proud to be able to claim they operate as a 100 percent no kill, non-profit animal shelter. The rescue is run by a small group of volunteers, and operates solely on private donations and fundraisers to rescue homeless animals in the area and provide them with food, water, shelter, medical attention, and perhaps most important of all, unconditional love.

They have saved countless four-legged lives over the years, each one leaving their paw prints on the volunteers’ hearts as they go on to their forever homes. Those that don’t immediately find new families, which is often the case with homeless pets, are welcome to stay at the rescue for as long as it takes. The animals get to have daily playtime, treats, and all the belly scratches they could want, while they wait anxiously to be adopted. They are always looking for volunteers to come help, and donations both monetary and animal care supplies are welcome and encouraged.

Currently, the awesome volunteers at Animal Rescue, Inc. are planning an event to help raise money for the rescue that will be held in Barron Park on June 22, starting at 10:00 a.m. there will be music, kid-friendly activities, a 50/50 raffle, cake auction, vendors, and more fun stuff yet to be determined.

Animal Rescue, Inc. is located at 463 Lincoln Ave. in LaBelle. They can be contacted by phone at (863)-612-7456 or (863)-342-2076, or by email at animal.rescue.inc.labelle@gmail.com.
