Today I was over the moon to have the opportunity to visit the Downton Abbey Exhibit in New York City. I am a huge Downton fan and the entire experience was absolutely incredible. As we entered the enormous and gilded double doors the docent pulled the trio of DA fans of which I was one third off to the side and said to us, “I just want to thank you for being here today because your energy is so great that it has made my day to have you in my line!”
What a great compliment to get from someone who literally encounters thousands of people in the course of a day. But, the truth is that it doesn’t surprise me. Now I don’t say this to sound haughty or arrogant in any way; but I do put a LOT of work into maintaining a high vibe.
All of the things that I practice daily, like prayer and meditation, yoga, reading good personal development books, and making mindfulness a priority are things that I do specifically to keep my energy high-vibing! And so, when someone says that I made their day with my great energy it’s just a testament that all of my dedicated work has paid off!
Why am I telling you this, you may ask? Because our energy has the power to affect other people. You literally have the ability to change the course of someones day just by being in a great mood, isn’t that amazing? Conversely, have you ever held the door for someone who grumpily trots right past you without so much as a thank you? It doesn’t feel good and it probably altered your mood in a negative way.
This week, try to set an intention to choose good feeling thoughts. When we choose good feeling thoughts, we make good feeling decisions, when we set ourselves up to have a good feeling day we make everyone around us feel good too! Can you imagine living in a world where everyone was a little bit happier? Let’s give it a try.
