Messiah in the Passover

A vivid and exciting demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover will be held Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church, 310 Campbell Street, conducted by Greg Savitt of Chosen People Ministries. It gives the Christian community insight into Jewish traditions.

Easter at Assembly of God

March 27, at LaBelle Assembly Of God, the Easter musical celebration, “ What A Savior” will be presented at 11:00 a.m. Many scriptures of praise will be shared by the church family. There will be scriptures of Christ’s death and resurrection and songs of praise by the congregation. Some of the specials sung will be Via Dolorosa, Trust in You, Victory In Jesus, Lord I Need You, One Pair Of Hands, If That Isn’t Love and many more. Everyone is welcome. Caught in the Act!

When folks hear the first musical notes of “Monster Mash,” they turn into monsters, ghouls and goblins during the AGE OF AQUARIUS. Come to the Firehouse Community Theater on April 1-2, 7-9, at 7 p.m. or April 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. to see if this monster transformation keeps taking place in LaBelle. And for some unknown reason, the cast has been calling Barbara Brandenberg-McDowell “Igor.” Could this be a hidden clue?

Two Peas supports Relay for life

Two Peas Cafe Relay for Life team supports Relay for Life. $500 in Universal Studio gift certificates are available at the cafe. The drawing ill be at the Relay for Life in Barron Park April 2 at 8 p.m. Donation $5 each or five for $20.

STA 5/6 (Stormwater Treatment Area 5)

Walk or bicycle on over 20 miles of levee roads at SFWMD’s STA 5/6 (Stormwater Treatment Area 5/6) during daylight hours four days each week on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (except for fall/winter hunting), and Monday. This popular site known for bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography, hiking, or bicycling is located 28 miles south of Clewiston. Park at the STA 5/6 public access area which is 2 ½ miles east of the CR 835 and Deer Fence Canal Road intersection. Watch for the directional signs on CR 835. Amenities at STA 5/6 include 2 shelters and dry vault toilets.

“What a Difference a Cake Makes!” Caloosa Humane Society is having a Easter Dessert Auction, March 24, 2016 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at LaBelle Community Woman’s Club! Adult FCAT retake

The Adult FCAT retake will be given on March 29 and 30 in the LaBelle High School Library. Any student who has already graduated but still needs to take this test is welcome to sign up. The test will begin at 5:30 p.m. each night and attendance for both nights is necessary to complete the test. Please call Mrs. Marotti or Dr. Borghese at LHS (863-674-4120) to sign up for the test.

Golf tourney

A four man best ball scramble tournament will be held at the Glades Resort April 2. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The benefit tournament this year is “Send a Teen to Youth Camp.” The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team, includes green fees, cart fee and lunch. Closest to Pin contest on Par 3 and longest drive contest on Par 5. Many door prizes, 50-50 raffle.
