LABELLE — K-9 Deputy Bayly signs out federal Drug Enforcement Administration narcotics for K-9 training on the afternoon of Sept. 4, when staff returned to the usual activities at Hendry County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in LaBelle. The county’s K-9 Team trains on Wednesdays. Officials posted on their Facebook page that “everyone at the Sheriff’s Office is happy to be back to business as usual, while keeping everyone in the path of Hurricane Dorian in our prayers.” Several deputies were providing security at the county’s three shelters that opened Sunday night into Tuesday, Sept. 3, until the hurricane’s turn north was confirmed, away from a track bringing it into Florida.
