Kathy Shoaf was the speaker of the night for the first Audubon Meeting of the season. Kathy has been doing bird photography for two years.

“Since I was a kid I had a passion for nature and wildlife. I moved to Florida about 15 years ago from San Francisco. So Florida is very different, I felt like I had landed on the moon when I got here. At first I hated it but now I love it, especially the wildlife and the birds I am very passionate about,” Kathy explains.

Kathy ended by showing a slideshow of beautiful bird pictures she took throughout the area.

Margaret England was named Vice-President and Steve Buczinsky was named president of the Hendry Glades Audubon: “It is really an exciting place for wildlife here in central Florida and it’s a place that I think more people should be aware of and come to see. I’m looking forward to this season and enjoying all the wildlife we have around us,” Steve explains.
