Director Rodriguez isn’t sure what happened, but the Junior-Senior Field lost outfield footage necessary to be used for a legal sized Little League field. After a lot of measuring and discussion, the director of Hendry-LaBelle Recreation Board, along with County Commissioner Darrell Harris, Rock Aboujaoude of Rock Enterprises and Mayor David Lyons came up with a solution. Maybe, just maybe, the folks at Country Village would help out and loan the land needed to make the field legal again.
On July 14, a meeting of the board for the Country Village Property Owners Association was held. This idea was brought in front of them for consideration. After a very brief discussion, Wendy Menard made a motion to allow the Recreation Board to acquire whatever property was needed to complete the ball field at the legal size. This motion was seconded by Jody Miller and passed unanimously.
A lease agreement for the property will be drawn up and signed by both parties in the near future. The Hendry-LaBelle Recreation Board and all citizens would like to thank Country Village for this consideration.
