Randy Williams is the new exclusive on-site agent at the Riverbend Motorcoach Resort. Working for Southern Heritage, Randy moved here a month ago from the Keys with his wife Mikki.

I meet Randy at the Riverbend Motorcoach Resort, we hopped in his golf cart for a tour of the resort, I never would have imagined there was a whole fancy mobile neighborhood behind the big fountain sign on SR80, with curvy roads and multiple lakes with fountains that light up at night. But instead of big houses, they have huge RV’s parked in every driveway and a small shed next to it. “Every lot is privately owned and fully customizable,” Randy explains as we drive along, “the little sheds you see next to the driveway are called coach houses, they were initially meant as sheds, but some owners turned them into small studio homes with outdoor kitchens and bars. As you can see every lot is different and fully adjustable to the needs of the owner.”

As we are cruising through the resort Randy explains how he and Mikki ended up here: “My wife and I came here at first looking at a guy’s RV to buy, he gave us a tour in his golf cart, just as we are doing now. He asked me what I did for a living and I told him I was a Realtor in the Keys. A few months later I got a call from the Vice President of the association asking if I was interested in becoming the on-site Realtor. My wife and I already started to do some traveling in the RV and thought that was a pretty cool idea, so we said heck yes!”

Randy goes on to show me the pool area with two hot hubs and a massage room. They have a laundry room and work out facility. With two big grills, right by the pool area. “So when you have guests you can have cook-outs if you’d like. And if you don’t have enough room to accommodate your guests, they can stay in one of the cottages on the property,” Randy explains as he kindly greets all the people in the neighborhood.

It feels like I am cruising through the neighborhood with the mayor of this hidden community. “We have a restaurant and bar on the water, there even is a library!” As we drive back to the front gate, we pass a tennis court and a RC race car track, we see people playing pickleball (a combination between tennis, badminton and ping-pong).

“They even have RC boat races on the lakes here,” Randy tells me as we pull back into the front office. “The nice thing about this resort is the location, it is a quiet, rural setting. You don’t have the hustle and bustle of the big city, but yet in 20 minutes you’re in Fort Myers!”
